I am Demetrius McCoy, Sr. and I am running for DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, to represent Super District 7 on three promises:
I'm prepared. Over the last 8 years, I have had an opportunity to serve in the Executive and Legislative branches of government in DeKalb County and have first-hand experience as a current Chief of Staff on the Board of Commissioners as to the working function of the County Commission. Over the last 8 years, we have made significant progress in DeKalb and we need a leader who is prepared to "Move Us Forward Together" on Day 1.
I'm committed. Public service is not a photo opp or a popularity contest. It is to be by the people and for the people. As a son of DeKalb County, I am from DeKalb County, and I am for DeKalb County. As your next Commissioner, I will represent all of DeKalb from North to Central and South DeKalb. The only way forward is together!
I'm collaborative. I understand that a house divided against itself cannot stand. In DeKalb County, our challenges demand more than rhetoric, our challenges demand a leader who can work with anyone to get things done. As your next Commissioner, I’ll work with anyone who’s committed to making my hometown, DeKalb County, a better place to live work, play, worship, and do business!
I’m proud of my record of accomplishments as a son of DeKalb County, current Chief of Staff on the Board of Commissioners, Pastor, and community advocate, and I look forward to earning your support!

I will partner with our schools, invest in our libraries, senior center and recreation centers to ensure that we support every citizen from the cradle to the grave. I will invest in programs that empower our youth and that ensure safer communities. I will bring that same passion and determination to the County Commission to “Move Us Forward Together” in DeKalb County.
